With Stevens Home Contracting
Everyone is effect and influenced by construction. Buildings new and old are around us all. Many experience firsthand various levels of the industry. The business of being a Home Contractor for Bryan Stevens is the blueprint he has lived. His father passionately renovated and built for others and his family for his entire life. Working at his side was routine as a youth and once High School came Bryan helped lead a few friends at hands on construction in the field of the business. All trades were done “in house” with his father and his uncle showing the way. A half dozen family house flips as well is the best education one can get in the business.
Four years at Furman University and 6 years as a teacher coincided with construction side jobs. In 2000 Bryan jumped full time into the industry with remodeling and then working full time as a licensed builder with a family friend.
2010 rolled around with a leap to go into business on his own. Marketing was not thought of as all his clients came “word of mouth”. With faith and hard work business has continued to grow strong. Size is the biggest challenge as Stevens Home Contracting wants to remain a local, personal touch business. Turning away business may not sound like a good “plan” for most but that is what SHC is willing to do to keep the quality and customer commitment that is the foundation and roots of the company.
Knowing from his days in the field lugging shingles to sheetrock, or hand driving 4 to 14 D nails, the “subcontractor” is just a valuable as the contractor on any type project. The contractor is organizing and choreographing all the subcontractors work to put into show. As SHC values his relationships with his customers he equally values the relationship and efforts of his subcontractors and vendors.
